Couch Studio No More
Every time I try to get my blog on (in a somewhat consistent manner) some life-changing event seems to get in the way. Most recently, buying a new home in the Chicago Loop (pictured) and getting married this past Saturday were the culprits. However! Now that things are slowly returning to a semblance of normality, it’s time to get the design blog rolling once more.
Laptop Hunters
I was going to let this current Microsoft Laptop Hunters ad campaign come and go without commenting on it. I honestly tried. After seeing the “Sheila” version of the ad about 247 times now, however, a man can only take so much.
AIC: The Modern Wing
Opened publicly for less than a month, The Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago was where my fiancé and I headed this past rainy Saturday. We’d been chomping at the bit to go since we couldn’t make the opening night invite; the new facility certainly doesn’t disappoint.
The Stand
Everyone in the field has that moment; you’ve proofed your design on Firefox, Safari, IE 8/7, Chrome, Opera, various platforms…and then comes the oft-avoided query: “Has anyone checked this on IE 6 yet…?” …..*silence*
New Design is a Go
As I write this, I’m in the process of finishing up the transfer of files and content over from mediatemple to dreamhost. Earlier, pseudoroom on mediatemple had been down the previous 35 hours or so — site, email, and FTP — which while aggravating, was also the final nail in the coffin of the old design.
